The Medical Cannabis Budtending 101 (MCB 101) curriculum establishes a foundational standard for employees working in cannabis consumption areas and retail environments across New Mexico. This 30-minute certificate course equips Budtenders and Servers with essential knowledge to effectively serve both medical cannabis patients and adult-use consumers in compliance with the New Mexico Cannabis Regulation Act and the Lynn and Erin Compassionate Use Act. The course covers key topics, including New Mexico’s cannabis laws, the therapeutic benefits of cannabis for patients, ethical practices for serving adult-use consumers, and strategies to promote public health and safety in cannabis retail and consumption areas. To complete the course, participants must pass a final quiz with a minimum score of 80%, demonstrating their understanding of the material. Upon passing, learners earn a Certificate of Completion, valid for three years, with annual renewals required thereafter to stay updated on regulations and training. Designed to enhance public health and safety, the program provides critical training for professionals in cannabis retail and consumption areas.
